Trails in the South Hills + Humming Bird Migration
The south hills are full of trails, caves, cool rock formations, streams, camping sites, and all of them are fun to take kids to. We've spent days hiking around in the south hills and finally came across the Hummingbird Migration area. Its a ways up the mountain, but it is well worth the adventure. Just google humming bird migration in the south hills and you will get a rough map of the area leading you up a bumpy single track road to the most amazing area. In the spring, the hummingbird migration site is filled with thousands of tiny bright colored birds buzzing around hundreds of bird feeders that have been put out by Fish and Game. At the right time of day it feels like you are inside a bee hive with the iridescent birds flying all around you and over head.
